About Me

My name is Nigel Braun, I am an Independent Funeral Celebrant who is able to conduct meaningful Funeral Ceremonies, tenderly treasuring the past.

With a move away from religion by many in society, the service of a Celebrant is proving more and more popular, offering families more choice in the style of service they would like for a relative or friend.

I have been a Funeral Celebrant for a number of years, working with several Funeral Directors from across the country. I am currently providing Celebrant Services in Inverness and also in the surrounding areas, and feel very lucky to live and work in this beautiful part of the Country. I can and do perform ceremonies in other locations by separate negotiation.

I have many passions in life, including keeping fit, listening to music from all genres, and enjoying the great outdoors, that we have right here on our doorsteps.

Nigel Braun: Independent Celebrant in Carlisle, Cumbria

My biggest passion in life are people. We are all unique and we all have a story to tell, and I see it as an honour and privilege to help tell these stories and to give them a voice by creating meaningful and beautiful ceremonies. I combine my love of getting to know people and bringing them together, and with my creative writing and speaking skills, we can create truly meaningful and heart-felt ceremonies for all of life’s seasons, celebrating love and lives.

I was inspired to become a Funeral Celebrant by my mother who wanted me to plan her funeral with her whilst she was terminally ill, to ensure she had a ceremony that really celebrated her life. It was after this ceremony that I was approached by other families to write their Eulogies and perform their loved one’s ceremonies.

It is important that you are comfortable with the personality and style of your celebrant. I have been told that I offer a particular warmth that creates a feeling of calm, I possess a sincere and compassionate nature which is essential on these saddest of occasions, having experienced loss myself.

I  also worked in the Public Sector for over 30 years, dealing with individuals who were both in crisis and vulnerable, through no fault of their own on a daily basis.

I am an independent celebrant, trained and registered with the internationally recognised Fellowship of Professional Celebrants.
